Für uns hat diese naturnahe Unterkunft sehr gut gepasst! Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Die Aussicht ist atemberaubend, die Zimmer sind liebevoll ausgestattet und die Küche lädt sofort zum kochen und Wohlfühlen ein. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen ganzen Tisch voller Lebensmittel aus der Region, so appetitlich zusammengestellt. Das Wetter war jetzt im Februar teilweise herausfordernd und warme Kleidung war auch im Haus angebracht :)) Das Feuer hat immer eine gemütliche Atmosphäre bereitet und der Platz vor dem Kamin war sehr begehrt! Ernesto hat uns mit allen Informationen versorgt und sich um alles gekümmert. Vielen Danke für alles!

Ernesto’s place was super peaceful, the surroundings were beautiful with a great view to mount Etna and also the coastline. When we arrived we received wine from their winery, fresh local fruits and different cheese for our first meal. Ernesto was very attentive and showed us his place with clear pride and gave us advice where to go to and what to do. Seeing a full grown mountain smoke is a special sight to behold.

Het is absoluut een geweldige locatie om te verblijven: pracht uitzicht, heerlijk rustig, je kunt er prachtig wandelen, zit op een steenworp van een aantal dorpen/steden. De host is zeer gastvrij: ondanks dat we enorme vertraging hadden en dus erg laat waren nam de host alle tijd om ons het huis te laten zien en informatie te geven over de omgeving. Ook gedurende het verblijf was de host aanspreekbaar en bereikbaar, heel plezierig. Het huis voorziet in wat je nodig hebt en ligt midden in een wijn/boomgaard waar je ook heerlijk in kunt wandelen.

This is a great place to stay and to explore the region around the Etna, Taormina and Catania. The view is magnificent, with the vines and the sea on one side and the volcano on the other. The house itself is old, but well maintained and equipped. Owner Ernesto is a lovely person, very generous and helpful.
Two important side notes if you want to rent it: 1) the last part of the road to the house is narrow and difficult. If you are driver who gets easily stressed out: don’t rent this place ????. 2) The heating in the house is based on a wood stove. If you don’t come in the summer, it’s a pretty intense job to get the house cosy and warm.

Wir waren Mitte August mit drei Kindern bei Gulia und Ernesto zu Gast und haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt in dem alten Winzerhaus in den Bergen. Das Haus hat alles, was notwendig ist: Super Blick auf Etna und Meer, großer Garten zum Toben, Sonnenstühle, Küchenausstattung inkl. frischem (eigens angebauten) Gemüse und Obst sogar eine Flasche vom Weißwein direkt von den Weinbergen. Ernesto gab uns einige Tipps, was wir in der Umgebung unternehmen können. Er ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber. Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne und angenehme Zeit in der Casa Rosa. Giulia haben wir nicht kennengelernt. Dafür hat uns Ernesto großzügig und mit grosser Gastfreundschaft empfangen. Zur Begrüssung hat er uns verschiedene Leckereien geschenkt und sich viel Zeit genommen, uns das Haus zu zeigen. Das Haus ist wunderschön auf einer Anhöhe über Weinbergen und mit Blick auf die umliegenden Ortschaften und das Meer gelegen. In die andere Richtung sieht man den Ätna!

The location was idyllic and the view stunning! Ernesto greeted us with olive oil, grapes from his vineyard, cheese, meats, bread, olives water and his delicious wine from his private stock. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in dem Haus direkt am Hang vom Ätna. In die eine Richtung sieht man den rauchenden Vulkan und in die andere Richtung die wunderschöne Bucht von Catania! Das Haus war sehr schön und extrem ruhig gelegen. Wir wurden sogar mit etwas Käse und anderen lokalen Leckereien begrüßt und haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Alle wichtigen Ausstattungen waren da, nur die Matratzen waren ziemlich hart. Aber wir kommen gerne wieder!

Het werd een spannende rit naar de locatie vanwege zware mist. Gelukkig werden we door onze gastheer Ernesto opgevangen en kwamen we veilig aan. We hebben een vriendelijk en warm welkom ervaren. Parkeerplek bij het huis is erg stijl en vraagt beslist goede stuurmanskunst. Locatie ligt op een idyllische, landelijke plek! Uitzicht op vulkaan Edna en aan de andere kant op de Ionische zee. Een prachtige plek om tot rust te komen en als uitvalsbasis te dienen om dit deel van Sicilië te verkennen. Sfeervolle woning met voldoende voorzieningen maar waar helaas de slaapbank en 1 tweepersoonsbed niet prettig liggen. Niet aan te raden voor mensen met rug Ons verblijf van een week eindigde met een aardschok vlak voor vertrek. Een week er voor was er een eruptie vd vulkaan Edna geweest. Dat was wel even schrikken. We hebben een geweldige week gehad. Het verlangen terug te komen is er zeker; alleen zijn betere matrassen voor ons dan wel van belang

Cette location est presque au pied de l'Etna visible depuis le jardin ainsi que la mer. Coin tout à fait paisible loin de l'agitation de la côte, des lieux fréquentés. Parfait pour se reposer, être au calme en famille, entre amis. Merci Ernesto des délicates attentions préparées à notre arrivée : huile d'olive, confiture, gâteaux, vin de sa production ! Et de nous avoir apporté le pain, les fraises, pour notre 1er repas sur place. Ernesto conseille parfaitement sur les visites à faire aux alentours : Etna, les villages, les sites remarquables. Prachtige locatie! Zeer rustig en privé, omringt door wijngaarden en met uitzicht op de Etna en de zee echt een prachtige plek. La location correspond à l’annonce, l’accueil d’Ernesto est très sympa avec pleins de bonnes petites surprises (marmelade, fruits, pain ...). La vue est superbe avec l’etna juste à côté. The photos don't do it justice, this place is INCREDIBLE. The views are totally out of this world - Mount Etna on one side, and you look out over what feels like the whole of Sicily on the other. I watched the sun rise one morning and couldn't believe my eyes. Truly stunning. Ernesto is the sweetest man, he left us fresh bread, local cheeses, fruit, his own olive oil (the best we tasted), beer, his own white wine (delicious) and lots of goodies for when we arrives which was so kind. He so showed us the cherry trees in the orchard and said we could help ourselves which was a particular highlight for the kids. Before we went I told him my son really wanted to come to Italy and pick lemons, he'd harvested his lemon trees before our trip but saved some on one tree for my children, they were over the moon and I was so touched. The house is incredibly well kitted out, had everything we needed and totally beautiful, I felt like I was in a movie the whole time. Don't hesitate to book this place, we had the trip of a lifetime and made such special memories in this house. Thank you Ernesto for everything you did for us.

Dom Ernesto jest fantastyczny. To uroczy stary budynek otoczony winnicami. Jest bardzo wygodny, pełen sprzętów - było w nim wszystko czego potrzebowaliśmy, a nawet więcej. Sam Ernesto to przemiły człowiek, pasjonat uprawy wina. Kontakt z nim był pierwszorzędny. Co do lokalizacji - jest bajkowa. Z jednej strony widok na morze i winnice, z drugiej na winnice i Etnę. Pamiętajcie, że na zakupy i do restauracji należy dojechać raczej autem. Dojazd - faktycznie ostatnie kilkaset metrów dojazdu jest nieutwardzoną drogą, ale każdy kierowca sobie z nią poradzi. Piszę te recenzję z ciężkim sercem, bo wiem, że po tak miłych słowach dużo ciężej będzie nam zarezerwować ten dom na kolejny pobyt, a na pewno będziemy chcieli wrócić!

Wir waren im Elternzeit Urlaub mit unseren beiden Kindern (knapp 1 Jahr und 2,5 Jahre alt) für eine Woche im Haus, allerdings bereits Ende März. Wir haben wir uns schnell im Haus eingelebt, das Heizen mit dem Kamin (dieser befeuert die restliche Heizung im Haus), die Abgeschiedenheit, die Anfahrt über eine ziemlich holprige Straße, wenig Komfort bei Sofas und Badezimmern. Aber das Haus beherbergt alles, was man braucht (vor allem in der Küche, auch Kinderbetten und Spielzeug) und hat aufgrund des wirklich sagenhaften Ausblickes über die Weinberge bis zum Meer schnell unsere Herzen gewonnen. Wir konnten mit dem Kindern ohne Probleme auch Mal einem ganzen Tag dort zubringen. Außerdem kommt man in so einem Haus tatsächlich mal zum Urlaub machen, "Back to the roots" sozusagen. Von Kräutern über Nudeln, Reis und Couscous war auch alles da, inklusive Espresso Maschine und Pürierstab. Ende März war es teilweise noch recht kühl, auf dem Steinboden konnten wir unsere kleine Tochter nur mit dickeren Sachen und Matschhose zum Robben herumtoben lassen und Hausschuhe sind nötig. Morgens dauert es eben etwas, das Haus etwas warm zu bekommen. Ernesto hat uns immer sehr freundlich zur Seite gestanden, Kommunikation auf Englisch klappte gut, er erklärt ausführlich und war stets hilfsbereit. Über seinen selbstgemachten Wein und Marmelade sowie Öl haben wir uns auch sehr gefreut! Wer also Lust auf ein einfaches Haus in idyllischer Lage hat, ist hier genau richtig. Vermutlich ist es im September dort am schönsten :)

Wir haben insgesamt 13 Tage in dieser schönen Unterkunft verbracht. Die Lage mitten in den Weinbergen ist toll, ebenso wie der Blick sowohl auf das Meer als auch auf den Ätna (wenn er denn nicht in Wolken ist). Die Anfahrt aus Petrulli über den schmalen Weg ist noch in Ordnung, allerdings nur mit einem normalen Auto. Tiefergelegte Sportwagen haben hier nichts verloren. Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist dagegen die Einfahrt auf das Gelände sowie die Ausfahrt. Aufgrund einer Wand gegenüber muss man schon heftig rangieren, aber Übung macht den Meister. Hervorzuheben ist der Gastgeber Ernesto. Freundliche Begrüßung mit einem Korb Lebensmittel für die erste Zeit. Ausführliche Erklärung des Hauses und der Einrichtung. Er war auch bei kleineren Problemen wie etwa einer leeren Gasflasche für den Gas-Beistellofen sofort zur Stelle. Veramente ottima esperienza nella proprietà del sig. Ernesto. La casa gode di un panorama magnifico ed è immersa in una zona verde, accanto al vigneto di proprietà e lontana da rumori e fastidi. Il proprietario è stato molto gentile non solo nell'accoglierci con vari prodotti locali di benvenuto ma anche offrendoci una piccola piscina gonfiabile per i bambini. Nonostante il caldo torrido che si soffriva in pianura, lì si stava benissimo grazie all'altitudine e alla vegetazione circostante.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Casa Rosa. If you are looking to unplug and be amongst nature and silence, this is the place to be. The house itself is beautifully restored, it looks just like the photos. It is equipped with everything you could possible need. We loved the yard and surrounding area of vineyard and fruit trees. Every morning waking up and watching the sunrise over the sea was bliss, a sight we will never forget. This was a perfect stay for us and our 2 young children, lots of room inside and out. The hosts Ernesto and Maria very kind and warm. They were quick to respond to any questions and even stocked the kitchen for our arrival. I cannot say enough about this unique accommodation- we hope to return!

Das Haus hat unglaublich viel Charme! An jeder Ecke spürt man die liebevolle Pflege der Gastgeber. Ernesto empfing uns freundlich und zeigte uns den Weg zum Haus: Die Straße hoch zum Haus ist unbefestigt und recht schmal, aber machbar mit einem kleinem Auto. Unser Gastgeber führte uns durchs Haus, erklärte die kleinen Eigenarten (Gasherd, was zu tun bei Stromausfall etc.) und gab uns sehr viele Tipps für Ausflüge. Ganz toll: uns wurden lauter Leckereien aus der Umgebung zusammengestellt, so dass wir gleich mit dem Urlaub beginnen konnten und nicht erst zum Einkauf fahren mussten. Wir hatten zu dritt sehr viel Platz, um eine Woche komplett zu entspannen und von dort aus die östliche Seite Siziliens zu erkunden. Die Lage ist toll, wenn auch etwas einsam - aber genau das hatten wir gesucht. Der schöne Ausblick auf die Weinberge, hinunter ins Tal und an die Küste bzw. hinter uns hinauf zum Etna war atemberaubend zu jeder Tageszeit. Das Grundstück ist wunderschön, bietet genügend Raum und sehr viele verschiedene Sitzgelegenheiten. Sogar Hängematten luden zum Verweilen ein. Ein ganz großes Lob an dieser Stelle an Ernesto, der nicht nur unglaublich freundlich war, sondern auch sehr schnell auf Probleme reagiert hat und zu Hilfe eilte. :)

We had a wonderful stay at the Pink Retreat. Ernesto welcomed us with fresh cheese and fruit and a bottle of wine, which was great after a late arrival... The kitchen is generously equipped and everything was working fine. The garden is lovely and the view stunning. The house is very charming and the kids loved it, too. Yes, the road to the house is bumpy and narrow, but that should not pose a problem to anyone with average driving skills and an average car. It is a remote place and getting to it requires a little effort, which is fair enough. We would not hesitate to book the place again!

Pics don’t do the place justice. Incredible views of both the sea and Mr Etna and comes equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed celebrating a birthday lunch by grilling fresh fish and local meats on the outdoor grill. Mt etna was active and we even enjoyed a nighttime lava show which special. Indeed the tiny stretch of road to access the place is v narrow even for a fiat 500 but Ernesto kindly guides you there (you would not be able to find it on your own otherwise). Ernesto accommodated a late check in and was very friendly and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could not recommend this enough to those looking for a great home base near Catania and Taormina!

We had a lovely week at the pink retreat. The host/key keeper Ernesto is very friendly and takes great care to show you everything you need to know about it. The view from the lawn is stunning, and the surrounding area gives you a very calm and positive feeling. Big plus: During our stay the cherries were waiting to be picked and we were told to take as many as we would like (which we did - delicious!). Since it was a bit rainy during our stay, we used the fireplace and cozied up inside instead of outside. The kitchen (and house in general) is well equipped, we did not miss any day-to-day household items. Be prepared, the drive to the house gets a bit adventurous on the last 300 meters, smaller cars are actually an advantage here. But under no conditions was it dangerous to drive there.

It is such a wonderfull spot with a great sorrounding, away of the narrow villages. We were welcomed very warm by the amiable Ernesto with some outstanding good cheese and hints for the house and the area. In the spacious house you find everything you need to feel comfortable. One shouldn´t come along with a Cadillac - car, verry verry narrow winding roads. We would love to come amnother time.
